Croatian Gift Ideas for Someone Who Loves the Wine and Food
Looking for a Croatian gift for someone who still talks about their last holiday on the Adriatic? Give them our e-book on the wine and food of Pelješac, a peninsula in southern Dalmatia. The download link usually arrives by e‑mail within a few minutes of payment, so it also works as a last-minute Christmas or birthday gift.

A book about Croatian wine and food from Pelješac
A souvenir from Croatia usually ends up on a shelf. A book takes the reader back and explains where the wine comes from, who makes it and what people on Pelješac eat with it.
We wrote it ourselves, Jan Svoboda and Jaroslav Vrba. We first drove to Pelješac about 30 years ago and still go back twice a year. The book covers 41 wineries in 5 areas of the peninsula, their vineyards and grapes, local produce and 11 recipes.

Croatian wine as a gift
Plavac Mali. A native Croatian red grape from Dalmatia and the main red grape of Pelješac. Read more on the Plavac Mali page.

Dingač and Postup. Two named vineyard areas for Plavac Mali. Dingač is an EU protected designation of origin for wine.
A bottle to go with the book. The Dubrovnik-Neretva County tourist board calls bottles of Dingač and Postup the most famous local souvenir and gift. We sell only the book, so the bottle comes from elsewhere. The e-book then tells the reader where the wine comes from and who makes it.

Traditional Croatian food gifts
Food is the other half of the book. These are ideas for things to bring home from a trip or to cook together, not things we sell:
Ston sea salt. The Ston tourist board calls salt from the Ston salt pans a real souvenir that you should not leave without.

Olive oil. For something you can take home, the county tourist board names a small bottle of olive oil as the nicest souvenir. Our Pelješac food guide has more on olive oil, honey and the local sweets.

A dinner to cook. Make sea bass in a salt crust together, or bake a Ston cake, and open a Croatian wine with it.
